About Lisa Ryan

Today we focus on gratitude with special guest, Award Winning Speaker, Author, and Chief Appreciation Strategist of Grategy, LLC, Lisa Ryan. Lisa explains how gratitude builds on the basic foundation of human connection through thankfulnes; letting people know that they matter, are seen, and are important to us, promotes loyalty, fulfilment and happiness, with people in the workplace.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • The SHOW Method, one of Lisa’s two main programs
  • How to be thankful for where you are now
  • How to be grateful for people/things you don’t even like!
  • The importance of a gratitude journal

As well as some other very useful tips for practising gratitude, Lisa adds that the only benchmark you should be setting is yourself. There will always be people who have more or less than you. Compare yourself with your own goals and celebrate your own small achievements.

“Waking up feeling grateful encourages a more positive outlook for the rest of the day.”

Bringing this to the workplace, Lisa explains that when you tell someone you appreciate them, you create a memory, but when you write it down to give to them, you create a treasure. Something as simple as a smiley face on a post-it, given at the right time, gives them a tangible evidence of a job well done.
